swoppp! is a minimalist physics puzzle for one thumb. Circles drift, triangles hunt. Draw a straight line in slow motion, release, and commit. Bank off walls, chain combos, graze danger for bonus. Fifty designed levels, a new puzzle every day, and nothing on screen but circles, triangles and lines.
swoppp! began as a 2015 bachelor thesis on physics in casual games and shipped ten years later. The rules fit on a napkin: collect every circle, avoid every triangle, one straight line per move. Time slows while you aim so you can read the physics; the moment you release, it plays out at speed and there is no taking it back.
Depth comes from restraint. Lines bounce off walls. Momentum carries you past your target. Grazing a triangle drops the world into bullet time. Three circles in one line is a combo; five is the name of the game across the screen. Later worlds change one rule each: circles that fade, triangles that turn toward you, walls that become doors, a keystone that must be collected last.
Every day there is a shared puzzle with a shareable result. There are no accounts, no energy, no timers. Just a line, and whether you meant it.
In 2015 Yusuf Algan wrote his bachelor thesis at Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln on the design of a 2D physics game for phones, sketched the game, and put it away for a career in product and UX design across Berlin and the Gulf. In 2026 he built it. The original concept sketches, the black-and-white palette and the day and night colour modes are all from the thesis.
